Points & Season Winners

The Jack High Poker League uses a custom formula to calculate points based on tournament size, finishing position, and prize pool value. The system rewards both strong finishes and consistent performance throughout the season.

How Points Are Calculated

Points are determined using the following formula:

Points = 2 × √(Nent / Place) × (1 + log₁₀(tfee / Nent + 0.25) + Bonus)² ÷ log₁₀(buyin + rebuy + 0.25)

Where:

  • Nent = number of players in the tournament
  • Place = your finishing position
  • buyin = tournament buy-in amount
  • rebuy = total amount of rebuys you made
  • tfee = total tournament prize pool
  • Bonus = 0.15 if you win the tournament, otherwise 0

What the formula means:

  • Higher finishes earn disproportionately more points (nonlinear scaling).
  • Larger tournaments and prize pools yield higher potential points.
  • Players who avoid rebuys gain a small efficiency advantage.
  • Winners receive a slight bonus for securing first place.

Season Winner

At the end of the season, the player with the highest total points is crowned the League Winner. To qualify, players must participate in at least seven tournaments. Points earned in the End-of-Year Freeroll also count toward the final total.

The League Winner receives a cash prize and recognition as the top player of the season. Additional payouts may be distributed to top finishers through the optional Points Pool, which members can opt into at the start of the season.
